My name is Kimberly Sims, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience helping individuals and couples navigate life’s challenges. My father worked in community mental health and this meant I grew up in a family where mental health and social justice was an integral part of our daily conversations. This led me to follow in his footsteps to hold space for people when they need it the most.

As a military spouse, I understand firsthand the unique challenges of constantly transitioning and putting down new roots every few years. Navigating the stressors of relationships and parenting in the military can be difficult, and you don’t have to face it alone.

I believe that every person is unique and deserves a personalized therapeutic approach. Using a strengths-based, solution-focused method, I tailor my interventions to meet each client’s specific needs, incorporating effective, research-backed strategies. In developing treatment plans, I integrate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method. I also offer EMDR therapy and am an EMDR trained clinician.

I strive to create a safe and inclusive space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered. I offer affirming, non-judgmental support to individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and non-traditional lifestyles.
